New Hampshire Reds

This breed was developed beginning around 1915 by New Hampshire poultry farmers using Rhode Island Reds.

They continually selected for early maturity, rapid growth, increased size, vigor, and hardiness.

There are no records showing any other blood was used in it's gradual development.

They were admitted to the Standard of Perfection in 1935. They are in the American Class.

New Hampshires are currently on the "Watch" list of the Heritage Livestock Conservancy.
